Opened in August 2008, The Cathedral is Seattle's first facility that is wholly dedicated to the aerial arts. It is located within the SPACE design collective building in the Greenwood neighborhood, a quiet residential area a few miles north of downtown Seattle. The address is 7601 Greenwood Ave N. - here is a map. Parking is easy, and there are several bus routes that serve the area (the 5 runs there directly from downtown).
Features of the space include: 28' ceilings; custom-designed beam clamps on all points; 6 vertical apparatus, 4 trapeze, and one sling/hoop/net point available; dance flooring over compressed rubber floor; two bathrooms with showers; and separate stretching/warmup area.
The Cathedral is intended to be a teaching and training facility for aerialists of all levels. Classes are offered here by Versatile Arts as well as by Duo Madrona and Tamara the Trapeze Lady. Currently we offer three open gym sessions per week, with more to be added as demand warrants - please see the calendar for up-to-date scheduling information. Monthly memberships are also available.
Other teachers are also welcome to use the space for private lessons, workshops, and potentially classes if the schedule allows. Please contact us to find out rates and discuss scheduling.
