NEW SPACE!: Versatile Arts has found a new home! We are proud to announce that as of mid-August 2008, we have relocated to The Cathedral, a beautiful space with 30' ceilings located within the SPACE design collective at 7601 Greenwood Ave N.Adult Aerial InstructionWe offer classes and private lessons in corde lisse (aerial rope), tissu, single and double trapeze, lyra, and aerial net. All classes will take place at The Cathedral, 7601 Greenwood Ave N. Here is a map. All classes begin with warm-ups and stretching. One-hour private lessons generally do not include warm-up time, so plan to arrive early or warm up before you come to the studio. We recommend 20-30 minutes of cardio activity before all classes to prepare the body for stretching and training. Almost anyone can try aerials! However, people with active or chronic shoulder, back, hip, wrist, or knee issues should discuss those with the instructor before taking a class. Also, at this time our classes are limited to adult participants, so you must be over 18 to fly with us. We highly recommend SANCA for the younger circus fans - they have a wide range of classes for ages 2 and up. Looking for something different for your next birthday party, morale event, etc? Book a private aerial party for up to a dozen people! You bring the food; we provide the entertainment. Bring a camera! (No booze til after the aerials, sorry.) NEW: Versatile Arts now offers monthly memberships! See below for details. |

Attire |
Wear snug-fitting clothing that covers your midsection and all the way
down the leg. Cotton lycra is better than nylon lycra - you want
clothing that will create some friction on the rope.
Neoprene
ankle wraps can come in handy for protection. Bring a long-sleeved
layer for warmth and to protect the arms as needed. Please,
no clothing with zippers, rivets or belts, and be prepared to remove all
rings, watches, large earrings, or anything else that might catch on the
equipment.
Once you're hooked on aerials, you might consider ordering a custom unitard, or at least buying one of our stylish baseball jerseys! |
Bring |
A water bottle, a yoga mat to stretch on if you like |
