Versatile Arts loves your shoulders and your shoulders love aerial straps!

Currently Registering for Session 4: July 5th - August 29th, 2018.


 

Intro to Straps

Sundays from 3:30 – 4:45 PM, taught by Danaë in the Ballroom.

This class is for intermediate and advanced aerial students with no straps experience who want to try straps. The objectives of this class are to increase aerial-specific strength and stability, to teach students advanced aerial skills that can be used for conditioning as well as translated to other apparatus, and to introduce and safely build a solid skill set of straps fundamentals. Straps class will take students through a cardio and plyometric-based warm-up and a skills portion comprised of beginning hanging positions, inversions and other beginning straps skills.

While this is a drop-in class, you must pre-register for each class you wish to attend so that we may be sure to have an appropriate number of instructors each week. Registration cut-off is 3 hours before class.  If you register but do not cancel more than 3 hours in advance, you will still be charged.  You may show up at class without pre-registering, but you will pay an extra $5 drop-in fee.


Tuition: $160 ($10 late fee in effect June 28th)
Prerequisites: current beginner Straps student or Instructor approval. Brand new Straps students will be approved if at 2B level and are able to attend the first 4 sessions


 
 

Straps Drop-In

Saturdays from 2:00 – 3:30 PM, taught by Bob in the Ballroom.

This class is for intermediate and advanced aerial students looking to take their strength and technique to the next level. The objectives of this class are to increase aerial-specific strength and stability; to teach students advanced aerial skills that can be used for conditioning as well as translated to other apparatus, and to introduce and safely build a solid skill set of straps fundamentals. Straps class will take students through a cardio and plyometric-based warm-up and a skills portion comprised of planches, meat hooks, flags, pike-and-rock variations and muscle-ups. The class will finish with static and assisted stretching.

Continuing Straps Drop-In

Mondays from 7:30 – 9:00 PM, taught by Bob in the Ballroom.

This class is for intermediate and advanced Straps students with a minimum of one year of Straps experience (or instructor approval). The objectives of this class are to increase strap specific strength and technique and to continue building a solid skill set of straps fundamentals.

While this is a drop-in class, you must pre-register for each class you wish to attend so that we may be sure to have an appropriate number of instructors each week. Registration cut-off is 3 hours before class.  If you register but do not cancel more than 3 hours in advance, you will still be charged.  You may show up at class without pre-registering, but you will pay an extra $5 drop-in fee.

Straps Performance

This class is not being offered this session.

So you’ve been working on your strength and your straps skills, but want to put them together as an art, not just for conditioning? This is the class for you. You *must* have instructor permission to join this class. Occasionally, this class will be held on Fridays to utilize the entire Cathedral. Check the calendar for up-to-date information.

Prerequisites: Must be able to complete a minimum of 3 of each the following: straight arm straddle up, skin the cat, leg lift with legs above 90 degrees.
