Versatile Arts loves your shoulders and your shoulders love aerial straps!

Currently Registering for Session 1: January 2nd - February 26, 2018.


 

Intro to Straps

Fridays from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, taught by Bob in the Ballroom.

This class is for intermediate and advanced aerial students with no straps experience who want to try straps. The objectives of this class are to increase aerial-specific strength and stability, to teach students advanced aerial skills that can be used for conditioning as well as translated to other apparatus, and to introduce and safely build a solid skill set of straps fundamentals. Straps class will take students through a cardio and plyometric-based warm-up and a skills portion comprised of beginning hanging positions, inversions and other beginning straps skills.

Tuition: $160 ($10 late fee in effect December 26th)
Prerequisites: Must be able to complete or be working on the following: shrugs in a hanging pike position, straight arm straddle up, skin the cat, and leg lift with legs above 90 degrees, or have instructor approval.

 
 

Continuing Straps

Mondays from 7:30 – 9:00 PM,taught by Bob in the Ballroom.

This class is for intermediate and advanced aerial students with no straps experience who want to try straps. The objectives of this class are to increase aerial-specific strength and stability, to teach students advanced aerial skills that can be used for conditioning as well as translated to other apparatus, and to introduce and safely build a solid skill set of straps fundamentals. Straps class will take students through a cardio and plyometric-based warm-up and a skills portion comprised of beginning hanging positions, inversions and other beginning straps skills.

Tuition: $224 ($10 late fee in effect December 26th)
Prerequisites: Must have taken Intro to straps or have Instructor Approval.


 
 

Straps Drop-In

Saturdays 2:00 – 3:30 PM, taught by Bob in the Ballroom.

This class is for intermediate and advanced aerial students looking to take their strength and technique to the next level. The objectives of this class are to increase aerial-specific strength and stability; to teach students advanced aerial skills that can be used for conditioning as well as translated to other apparatus, and to introduce and safely build a solid skill set of straps fundamentals. Straps class will take students through a cardio and plyometric-based warm-up and a skills portion comprised of planches, meat hooks, flags, pike-and-rock variations and muscle-ups. The class will finish with static and assisted stretching.

While this is a drop-in class, you must pre-register for each class you wish to attend so that we may be sure to have an appropriate number of instructors each week. Registration cut-off is 3 hours before class.  If you register but do not cancel more than 3 hours in advance, you will still be charged.  You may show up at class without pre-registering, but you will pay an extra $5 drop-in fee.

Cost: $26 per class
Prerequisites: This class is for all students with straps experience.


 

Straps Performance Drop-In

Wednesdays 6:00 – 7:30 PM, taught by Leah in the Cathedral.

So you’ve been working on your strength and your straps skills, but want to put them together as an art, not just for conditioning? This is the class for you. You *must* have instructor permission to join this class. Occasionally, this class will be held on Fridays to utilize the entire Cathedral. Check the calendar for up-to-date information.

While this is a drop-in class, you must pre-register for each class you wish to attend so that we may be sure to have an appropriate number of instructors each week. Registration cut-off is 3 hours before class.  If you register but do not cancel more than 3 hours in advance, you will still be charged.  You may show up at class without pre-registering, but you will pay an extra $5 drop-in fee.
