Conditioning and Flexibility

We asked what else you wanted in our curriculum, and you said it loud and clear:  more conditioning!   New for 2012, here are some class options for working on strength and flexibility with instructors who will really motivate you!

Conditioning

Tuesdays from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm and Fridays from 9:30 am to 11:00 am in the Blue Room. Taught by Jenn Q.

This conditioning class will help you get ready to fly. All those dynamic moves you want to do require explosive strength and a solid core. This class will break down the individual pieces of more physically difficult movements and condition them to become efficient. But you’ll never be able to actually put them in a routine if you don’t work on your aerobic fitness too. We all know how hard it is to motivate yourself, so join this class and let Jenn Q do the motivating for you. Curriculum will evolve based on personal goals of those registered for the full session.

The following classes are not being offered this session – let us know if you are interested in them for a future session!

Flexibility for Aerialists

This class is not being offered this session. Taught by Elizabeth.

Shoulders and hamstrings and hips, oh my! Not to mention ankles, and wrists, and lower backs…  How do we bend without feeling like we’re going to break? Elizabeth will guide you through a series of yoga-based alignment exercises every class that will make a huge difference in what you can accomplish in the air, as well as how it looks while you’re doing it. Elizabeth’s background in yoga, dance, gymnastics, and personal training has provided her with an arsenal of stretching tricks and techniques and a love for anatomy that she enjoys sharing with her students to help them understand the work of getting bent… uh… bendier. Personal attention will be given to each student and their particular movement habits and barriers to help them accomplish greater flexibility in their most healthy and effective way. You have to stretch often to get better. A regular class sure will help!
