Versatile Arts is excited to announce that we are now offering youth classes for students age 11-17! Students who have not yet turned 11 should check out the classes at SANCA. Students who have had some experience will need a student assessment to find out which class fits them best. Email us to set that up. Students with no aerial experience should join the beginning class appropriate to their age group.
Please note that because our youth program is quite small, we cannot always accept new beginning students. Please contact us to find out if your child is new to the aerial arts and interested in starting classes to see if we are accepting brand-new students. We are happy to set up private or shared private lessons with them if classes are not currently available.
To register for class the first time:
- Fill out a release form for each student. This is an online release form; no need to print anything.
- Email us the student’s first and last name. If you have more than one student in your family and are using the same email address for both of them on the release forms, please list both students’ names and the email address you used on the form.
- Once you have heard back from us, click the “Register” button underneath the class you want to take. When creating your account, be sure to use the email address you used on the release form.
The youth class level description are:
- Level 1:
This level is for brand new beginners as well as students working on basic skills and building strength and endurance. Classes at this level may be mixed, with opportunities for students to work at the level appropriate to their abilities.
- Level 2:
This level is for students who are comfortable inverting in the air and have been introduced to multiple wraps on fabric, and are able to tuck under and pullover on a trapeze. Students will start to build their skill vocabulary and learn sequences incorporating multiple skills.
- Level 3:
This level is for students who are ready to or already are working on straddle climbs and windmills on vertical apparatus, and are comfortable working on whole sequences on sling or trapeze. Students will develop foundational intermediate skills and begin working on dynamic skills.
